The Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT), Meghalaya, Shillong has officially invited applications for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination 2025. This exam aims to select 231 meritorious students from Meghalaya under the State Quota allotted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

The NMMS 2025 Examination for Meghalaya will be held on 6th December 2025 (Saturday). Students who qualify will receive a scholarship of ₹12,000 per annum, provided they meet the eligibility criteria and other conditions of the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria Meghalaya NMMS 2025

Students must fulfill the following requirements to apply for the Meghalaya NMMS 2025 exam:

  • Must be studying in Class VIII (Academic Year 2025) in a State Government, Government-Aided, or Local Body School in Meghalaya.
  • Should have obtained at least 55% marks (General Category) or 50% marks (SC/ST Category) in the Class VII promotion exam (2024).
  • Not eligible: Students from Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, residential schools run by Central or State Governments, or private schools.
  • The parental annual income from all sources should not exceed ₹3,50,000/-.
  • The scholarship will continue every year up to Class XII, provided the student maintains required academic performance (minimum 60% marks in Class X, relaxable by 5% for SC/ST students).

Scholarship Benefits

Selected candidates will receive:

  • ₹12,000 per annum from the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
  • Scholarship is renewable every year up to Class XII, subject to academic performance and scheme conditions.
  • Selected students must apply online through NSP (National Scholarship Portal) under the NMMS section.

Meghalaya NMMS 2025 Admit Card

  1. The Admit Card must not be detached from the application form.
  2. Admit Cards will be sent to the Chief Superintendent of the examination centre after roll numbers are allotted.
  3. Candidates can collect their admit cards from the Centre Superintendent at least one week before the exam.
  4. Reach the examination centre 30 minutes before the start of the exam.
  5. Candidates must sit on the seat bearing their assigned roll number.

Meghalaya NMMS 2025 Exam Day Guidelines

  • Prohibited items: Mobile phones, calculators, mathematical/physical tables, or any kind of ready reckoner.
  • The examination will be conducted in two sessions.
  • Each question carries 1 mark.
  • All questions will be objective type (MCQs) — each with four options, only one correct answer.
  • Candidates must use a ballpoint pen to mark their answers on the OMR sheet.
  • Write your roll number on the OMR sheet and question booklet as per instructions.
  • Follow invigilator instructions strictly.
  • Hand over both the OMR sheet and admission card before leaving the exam hall.
