POWERGRID Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria
1. Age Limit
- Upper Age Limit: 29 years as on 17.09.2025
- Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD/Ex-SM as per Government norms.
2. Educational Qualification
Field Engineer (Electrical/Civil)
- Full-time B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engg.) in relevant discipline with at least 55% marks.
- Minimum 1 year post qualification experience in Design/Construction/Testing & Commissioning in power sector preferred.
Field Supervisor (Electrical/Civil/Electronics & Communication)
- Full-time Diploma in relevant discipline with at least 55% marks.
- Higher technical qualification (B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech.) is not allowed.
- Minimum 1 year post qualification experience required.
Selection Process
The recruitment will be based on a Common FTE Written Test 2025 followed by an Interview (only for Field Engineer posts).
Written Test Pattern:
- Duration: 1 hour (extra time for PwBD candidates)
- Mode: Objective (MCQ, 1 mark each, no negative marking)
- Sections:
- Technical Knowledge Test (50 questions, discipline-based)
- Aptitude Test (25 questions – reasoning, data interpretation, puzzles, etc.)
- General English (25 questions – comprehension, vocabulary, grammar)
- General Awareness (25 questions – current affairs, social science, GK)
- Qualifying Marks:
- Unreserved/EWS: 40%
- Reserved Categories: 30%
- Written Test Score will remain valid for 1 year.
Health Standards
- Candidates must meet POWERGRID’s medical fitness standards.
- No relaxation in health norms.
Test Centres
Candidates can choose from the following exam centres:
- Delhi NCR, Bhopal, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Mumbai
